Jerry, Lise,
James and Eric
Update: It has been 7 months since I originally placed this page. I am happy to say that the twins are doing well. Jerry and Lise have had their ups and downs but are happy, loving parents. Talking to Jerry you can hear the pride and joy he takes in his 2 boys. Even thought the boys are doing well they still have a lot of work ahead of them. I want to thank everyone who has helped them.
I am making this page in the hopes that people will find it
and help 2 of my dearest friends and their twins who are 3 months old. James
and Eric were born 15 weeks premature. Lise (pronounced Lisa) and Jerry are
their parents.
With the advent of the interent there has been an upsurge in frauds and
help scams. I understand most people will be skeptical of the this, all I ask
is that you read the letter and if you have any doubt then contact Jerry or
Lise directly. |
Letter From Jerry to me
Greetings because we are going to be out of work for
several months
without pay I am sending this too all of my friends and family with
whom I converse with via email. I am a little embarrassed but it
beats financial ruins. I ask all of you to please email all of this
to everyone on your email list. If we can pass on jokes, prayers,
and chain letters surely we can pass this on for my boys. If anyone
can and will donate money I have to ways of doing it. 1- my paypal
address is rufinkle@bellsouth.net
2. you can send a check for them,
email me and I will send you our address. if you want to see more
pictures email me and I can add your name to the list on webshots.com,
or go there and look up Jerry and Lise's babies. If you cannot give
money you can still pray for us we believe in the power of prayer,
it has gotten us this far. Thank you and God Bless each and evryone
one who reads this. Thank everybody for what you have done and are
doing. Jerry
I am asking for help for our twins boys who
were born at 25 weeks, thats right they were born 15 weeks early, they have
been in the hopsital for three months, they are home now but have special
needs that have to be met...every...three...hours...nonstop. Our hospital
bills are just over $900,000.00, we have insurance but are still going to
have to pay probably 10% out of pocket. (or so I'm told , but you can't get
blood from a turnip Mamaw always said) I had some collection agency call the
other day about a $2300.00 bill threatening to take legal action. I just
chuckled and told them to do whatever they had to do and hung up. My wife
and I have had to take a leave of absence from work. We have no more paid
time off. Our money is slowing disappearing ,by the time we return to work
we will be in very bad shape. I have emptied the savings and checking accounts.
I am at home selling stuff on ebay to try to pay bills. ( wanna buy
something?) Neither of us can go to work, because we have to be here to
take care of the twins for at least six months before they will be able to
eat without the aid of feeding tubes and pumps. Heart monitors, apnea monitors,
pulse oximeters. We had to be trained and show proficiencey in all the
above as well as CPR. our insurance REFUSES to give us a nurse during this
transition period. They send a visiting nurse out three times a week for
about 30 minutes. All they do is check what we are doing and weigh them, and
take their tempature, then write everything down, big whoop. We are both
doing a full time job here at home. We are having to sleep in 6 hour shifts
in separate beds to be able to get rest. We cannot have just anybody come
and take care of our boys while we work. Our friends and church are keeping us
fed because we honestly do not have time to cook for ourselves. I am so
flustered by all of this the other day I caught myself putting the milk in
the cabinet and the cereal in the fridge.

I am writing this while their feeds are going in with
the feed pumps. We can not use our disability insurance, we make to much to
qualify for food stamps or a welfare check. So what can we do? I don't even
have time to go out to rob a bank, not that I would. We also have to lug all
this equipment around to the doctors every time we leave the house. The boys
are seeing, a neurologist, cardiologist, eye doctor, pediatrician, GI doctor,
GU doctor, and I don't know who the hell else, I am sure I missed at least one.
Everything is a logistical nightmare, I love my boys more than life itself and
would not change anything, because one day, they will be better, and make a
full recovery. I have worked all my life and I don't want to screw up my credit
or financial life, but if I don't get some kind of monetary help I will not
have a choice. I DO NOT want to file bankrupt. I am pleading to anyone with or
without children for help. If you would give me the price of a soft drink, pak
of cigarettes, or whatever you can give to help us out I would be deeply
appreciative of it. We had to send our dog home with a friend to help cut out a
bill. I am not interested in this going to the press, I am having to swallow my
pride and ask for help. If anyone would be willing to help I have a paypal account setup in the
name of Rufinkle@bellsouth.net It
would be a great help if you emailed this to as many people as you know, the
more people the greater chance or getting help. Thank you for reading this and
looking into your heart to help our boys. see pictures attatched, they are
adorable!!! |

My Request For Your
Help
You may wonder how much of
a difference can a few dollars make. If 100 people send 10$ then thats 1000$,
even if those same people only send 5$ thats still 500$. I am confident that as
word of this spreads more and more people will offer their support.
I am currently working in Baghdad, Iraq and have been for
9 months now. This is a letter from one of my good friends and partner on the
ambulance back home. I had the good fortune of being home on R&R in May and at
the hospital when the twins were born. Jerry and Lise have been in my life for
the last 4 years and become very important to me.
It is sad to see 2 people who have worked hard all their life reduced
to begging for money from friends while the government continues to shell out
billions on people who have never lifted a finger to help themselves. This is
the bitter truth that I have seen the entire 4 years I worked at Grady EMS in
Atlanta. People who will not take care of themselves are provided with free
food, housing and medical care. While the hard working, responsible, tax-
paying workers like you, me and Jerry and Lise are driven to financial ruin
by a government that gives more to those who have never earned anything and a
health insurance 'mafia' that only cares about the bottom line and not you
the patient.
So I am doing what I can to help him by setting up this web page. I
hope he approves. He asks for support from people who care and can help. If
you have a moment and can send even a few dollars their way I know it will
help. I know that he would appreciate your time and effort. And I know that he
and Lise would be happy to know that you have added them to your prayer list
as well.
Thank you,
David |
